Lorraine Mary Wrege-Covill, devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend to so many, was born in San Diego, California on December 24, 1959. She passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends at sunset on Friday, October 7, 2022 at her home in Vista, CA. after a nearly 9 year battle with cancer.
In her youth, as the middle child, she grew up in National City and Treasure Island, San Francisco, and later Vista. With her two siblings, Ron and Amanda, and parents Bernard and Lourdes, she enjoyed hanging out with friends, listening to Motown music, dancing and writing. She always had a great sense of style in what she wore, how she lived, or when she entertained. She loved visiting new places. She thought of becoming either a hair dresser or a travel agent. After marrying and having children, she settled in Vista where she worked as a dental receptionist, and server at a local Mexican restaurant.
She was beautiful, generous, kind and a gentle soul; someone you could always count on. She was thoughtful, smart, creative, spontaneous, and loved to have a good time, and was always smiling and laughing. Her vivacious personality made her popular with so many people.
Lorraine later married again and lived for her husband Lee, family, and friends. She especially loved spending time with her kids and granddaughter Marley Jo and great nephew Georgie. She was able to check so many places off her bucket list with Lee by her side. You could find her most weekends spending time with family, or friends, going to concerts, listening to Reggae or Motown, or trying new wines.
Lorraine is survived by her husband Lee Covill, her mother, Lourdes, her two children, Lauryn and Jarrid, their spouses Alexandra, and Lindsay, her grandchild Marley, brother Ron (Joyce, niece and nephew Nikki and Steven), her sister Amanda (Simon) . She also left behind her cat Lotus. She was proceeded in death by her father Bernard F. Jimenez in 2016.
After her long battle with Cancer… she is finally free and among Angels and her beauty and brightness will continue to shine in us all!
What brings me peace is that my mom is no longer in pain and suffering. It’s still so hard to process that she is no longer here and I can no longer hear her voice or hug her. This is the hardest thing I have ever done, but I’m so happy I got to be there by her side and hold her and take care of her to lead her to her next journey.
My mom was thankful she got to say goodbye to all her friends and family, because she knew not everyone got that chance to do so. I loved hearing all the memories and good times from all her friends and family. Everyone that knew my mom loved her and only had happy and positive things to say about her. She was a mother, daughter, grandmother, wife, sister, and best friend to many. Her legacy will live on and she will always be with me. I miss her terribly and I love her always and forever. She is my beautiful angel. I love you mom!
